Time Off & Leave Management

Managewise provides a seamless Time Off & Leave Management system, allowing employees to request leave easily while giving managers the tools to track, review, and approve time off efficiently. The feature is accessible through both the web app and mobile app, ensuring flexibility for employees and managers alike


Requesting Time Off

Employees can request time off directly from the Managewise mobile app or web app.

Steps to Request Time Off:

  1. Navigate to Time Off from the sidebar menu.

  2. Select the type of leave (e.g., Holiday, Sick Leave, Non-Paid Absence).

  3. Choose the dates for the leave.

  4. If the request is not for a full day, enter the exact time range.

  5. Optionally, provide a reason for the request.

  6. Click “Send for Approval”.

Once submitted, the request will be sent to the manager for approval.


Approving or Rejecting Time Off

Managers have the ability to review and approve or reject time-off requests from both the web dashboard and the mobile app.

Steps to Approve or Reject Requests:

  1. Go to Time Off under Time Management.

  2. View the list of pending requests.

  3. Click on a request to see details such as:

    • Leave Type

    • Duration

    • Employee's previous leave records

    • Possible conflicts with other scheduled time off.

  4. Choose Approve or Decline.

Once a decision is made, the employee will receive a notification informing them of the status update.


Setting Time Off Policies

Time Off policies can be configured inside Settings > Business Settings > Time Off.

Policy Customization Options:

  • Default UK Policies (e.g., Full-time, Part-time, Zero-hour contracts).

  • Custom Policies (e.g., company-wide holidays like "Factory Closure").

  • Annual Allowance (set the number of leave days employees can take).

  • Unused Leave Carry Forward (define whether unused leave can roll over).

  • Sick Leave Allowance (specify paid or unpaid sick leave policies).

  • Alerts for Excessive Absences (e.g., notify managers if sickness absence exceeds X days).


Conflict Alerts & Time Off Summary

  • The Time Off dashboard helps managers track all leave requests in a structured view.

  • It includes Conflict Alerts, ensuring that multiple key employees are not absent at the same time.

  • Employees and managers can view a summary of approved, pending, and declined requests.

  • Managers get alerts for new requests and can approve time off in bulk if needed.

  • The system tracks all leave automatically to ensure smooth payroll processing.
